The pricing page is often the most paramount page for a business — as well as the most painful. But the following 7 popular web services have mastered the subtle art of effectively simple conversion pages that are 100% pain-free.

SQUARESPACE

Squarespace features 3 price plans with their recommended mid-tier plan in the middle of the screen. Adding a highlight of “Most Popular” above the plan panel makes the option even more attractive to the user. Underneath the plan prices, plan contents are listed out so that the varying merits can be easily compared. It’s important to have a more expensive plan to make the other plans look more relatively affordable. Users may not choose the most expensive $24 plan, but they may meet you halfway at $16 in order to get the extra benefits of the mid-tier.

Shopify

Shopify also features 3 main price plans (with a starter plan off to the side). And once again, the mid-tier plan is promoted with a “Most Popular” highlight and placed in the center of the screen. A slightly larger box is also used to draw attention to the plan. Shopify uses faded text to emphasize the missing features of the cheaper plans. In addition, the “Start your free trial!!” offer helps ease the potential customer into becoming a paying customer.

Xero

Another example of the popular three plan pricing. Xero keeps it simple by only listing the different features of the varying price points, with shared features claiming its own side column to make it easy for the user to choose the plan that best fits their needs.

Chartbeat

Chartbeat follows the three plan model, but veers of the trodden path by using subtle color emphasis. The mid-tier plan is accented with a vibrant turquoise compared to the blue of the lower and higher tiers. The contrasting red “Find Out Buttons” are also a good use of color.

dropify

Unlike the above services, dropify pursues the lowest price point customer with their Small plan. The free plan is greyed out, while the other plans are color-coded in warm coolers to lead the eye to the hottest plans. The sign up button makes use of the positive associations of green, as well as contrasting with the rest of the page to catch the user’s attention. dropify also offers a 30-day free trial to assuage the registration process.

Square

Square offers their customers two choices: a flat fee or a percentage plan.

mixpanel

https://mixpanel.com/pricing/

mix panel presents a different type of payment plan page using tabs so separate between main and add-on plans. Within the two categories, there is numerous price points depending solely on desired volume. However, even with so many options, mixpanel keeps the basic format simple with easy “Purchase” buttons.

The key to the above seven pricing pages is their one-screen overview of pricing without unnecessary clicks to the other pages. Comparison can be accomplished without any additional scrolling or searching. Include a most popular plan to make the decision process even easier. The digital journey of a customer to conversion should be kept as short and sweet in order to prevent early exits.
